I have officially been a “qualified” graphic designer for a year now, (YES A YEAR, I can’t believe university is just a semi-distant memory) and I have enjoyed doing a lot of interesting print and screen projects revolving around both graphic design and illustration. One thing I have never bothered to venture into was 3D, I just assumed it was a crazy logistical world that I would never be able to understand. I remember watching my fellow graduates building their final major pieces if Autodesk’s 3DX Max in complete awe.
After finding CInema 4D on my design studio computer I decided to open it up, after watching Ian - our in-house 3D nerd - build an awesome Aston Martin looking car. At first the abundance of information that sat before my eyes was just too much for me to process, and I closed it and just though ‘well, this isn’t for me’ but the next day in a quiet office I gave i a whirl.
Grey Scale Gorilla, if you ever decide to tackle 3D model building, is a fantastic tutorial site set up to help 3Ders both new and old friends with the 3-Dimensional world. I sat their most of the day creating a little, crappy, model spaceship with animated round an extremely basic landscape, and even though it was beyond terrible, for me it has been a little motivational platform.
Since then I have created a little American-Diner style glass coffee pot, and random spherical balls, and I know they won’t be winning any awards but I its given me the drive to try and be a proficient at a new skill, which hopefully I would be able to use on my resume in the future.
Hello there! I’m an illustrator living and working in Minneapolis, MN. I love all things bright, fun, and colorful and I’m excited to share my work with you! You can purchase prints of my work…
Great music to work too!

- Client: Right, we want a new logo, be as creative as you like.
- Designer: Brilliant, will create something really innovative to represent you as a brand

- Client: Its good but use Comic Sans because it will make us look friendly.
It has been ages since a website redesign, so I took down my website a couple of months ago so I could make the best portfolio for my work as possible.
The design; Inorder to create a great online platform for my work to sit - I wanted to create something really sharp but clean too (not boring) and I think I have achieved this - Going against my normal phobia of Serif typefaces and textures (don’t worry - there isn’t too much).
The coding; It’s a bitch, alright - But I have really enjoyed learning new techniques and I feel that my competency with coding is getting quite strong now with CSS3 and HTML. Just JQuery to get my noggin around now!
I will keep you updated for when it is launched, in the meantime, I will post a bit more often on Tumblr as I have been a bit distracted recently!

- They should be relaxing.... Yet I have done the washing up, eaten a cheeky bar of chocolate, for which I feel incredibly guilty, and am now back to work finishing this new logo. Ever have a break? When I am a famous graphic designer?... and even then no.
